You can click on each of the titles above to read our full reviews on each nomination, which will give you an idea as to why they have been nominated. We've also popped a short verdict for each below to give you a quick summary of what we loved about them.

Amazfit T-Rex 2

The Amazfit T-Rex 2 is an affordable outdoor smartwatch, that has that all-important rugged build quality of a watch that can withstand some carnage - while also having the software smarts to make it useful on an adventure.

It might not be the best outdoor watch you can buy, but it's certainly one of the best ones you can buy at this price and a much better outdoor watch than previous T-Rex instalments.

Fitbit Sense 2

The Fitbit Sense 2 offers a lovely simple and sophisticated design that is subtle and comfortable to wear, with a plethora of features on board.

If you're after a device that tracks activity accurately, offers excellent sleep tracking and has a range of health features like superb stress tracking, with some basic smartwatch functionality, the Fitbit Sense 2 is fantastic and in a world of its own.

Garmin Fenix 7 Solar

You often hear the phrase "the Swiss Army knife of X" referring to a product that does lots of things really well - and the Fenix 7 definitely fits that description. The watch is really well built and can withstand anything you throw at it.

With all its advanced sensors for tracking your heart rate, location, route, altitude and blood oxygen saturation, and what it does with all that data, you're going to struggle to find a better wrist-worn fitness coach.

Garmin Forerunner 955

The Garmin Forerunner 955 is an overwhelming triumph, ticking almost every box we look for in a premium running watch.

Not only does Garmin deliver significant improvements to the design here, but it also expertly implements features like HRV Status and Training Readiness into an already-comprehensive tracking experience.

Peloton Bike+

The Peloton Bike+ is a premium piece of kit with an undeniably premium price tag but it's super quiet, superbly built and very engaging.

If you have the space for it, have the money to invest in initial purchase and ongoing monthly cost, then it's an outstanding bit of kit to build into your workout schedule that delivers an exceptional experience. We think it's worth every penny.

Withings ScanWatch Horizon

The Withings ScanWatch Horizon is super-premium to wear, looks as good as anything on the market, and brings superb tracking to the table, making it a great proposition on its own two feet.

If you don't get scared off by the price tag, and love the look of it, this could be the perfect hybrid watch for you.

How the Pocket-lint Awards judging works

The winner for the Best Fitness Device category is decided by the Pocket-lint team, along with a panel of expert judges from publications across the industry. Following a vigourous scoring process, the Best Fitness Device winner for 2022 will be announced at an in-person event on 30 November 2022, along with the winners from the other 19 categories.

A Product of the Year winner will also be announced, chosen from the winners of the 20 categories and a winner of the EE Superfast Award will also be revealed at the event. On the night, we will be announcing the results on the Pocket-lint Twitter handle as they unfold and there will also be a feature detailing the winners once the Awards are over.
