What is Apple One? Everything we know about Apple's services bundle
Apple has put a lot of effort and money into its various subscription services over the last year, not it bundles them all together to offer better value.
Here's everything you need to know about its Apple One bundle.
What is Apple One?
- Subscription bundle to Apple services
- Three tiers available
- Includes access to iCloud storage
Apple unveiled the Apple One subscription service bundle during a Time Flies event on 15 September 2020. The new offering has three pricing tiers: Individual, Family, and Premier.
The Individual and Family plans give subscribers access to Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and iCloud storage. The difference between those two tiers is in the amount of iCloud storage - with the individual plan coming in at 50GB and the Family plan having 200GB. The Premier plan offers 2TB of storage and access to Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+.

How much does Apple One cost?
- Individual plan: $14.95/£14.95
- Family plan: $19.95/£19.95
- Premier plan: $29.95/£29.95
Apple One will definitely save you money on your suite of Apple Subscription services, but just how much it saves you depends on the plan. At $14.95 per month, the Individual plan will save subscribers about $6 over individually subscribing to all the services. The Family plan, which costs $19.95 per month, saves subscribers $8 in the end. The real value option though is in the premier plan, which costs more at $29.95 a month but works out to more than $25 of savings.
For extra savings, customers who pay with an Apple Card will get an extra 3 per cent cash back.
How does Apple One work?
- Charged monthly
- Cancel any time
- 30-day free trial
Apple One works similarly to other bundle subscriptions like Amazon Prime and Google One. Users will be charged once a month for the entire package they're subscribed to and can access the apps/services on any device that supports them. You'll be able to change your subscription whenever you want if you ever decide to upgrade or downgrade to another tier. Apple has also said that users will still be able to get a 30-day free trial for services that they haven't tried yet, as well.
Little else is known at this time, including how you'll sign up for it and get started. We will bring you those details as soon as we have them.
One other thing to consider when deciding on which plan to use: the Family and Premier plans allow users to add up to six other people to their subscription. The Individual plan doesn't allow any, although you could just share a single username.
Is Apple One available now?
- Limited launch
- US and UK among first to get it
Apple One launched in the US, UK, Australia and Canada on 30 October 2020. It's not yet known which other countries will get it and when.
