The best Amazon Echo deals for September 2020
Welcome to our roundup of the best Amazon Echo deals, with the latest pricing available for all of the Echo devices.
Amazon often slashes prices across the Echo lineup which is has done for the Bank Holiday in the UK, with some discounts in the US too. There are several versions of the Echo smart speaker available, giving you plenty of choice in price and performance.
Here's a rundown of all the Echo deals that are available as well as our best pricing from all retailers - not just Amazon.
Amazon Echo Dot (3rd generation)

- Dimensions: 43 x 99 x 99mm, 300g
- Audio: Built-in speaker, 3.5mm connection
Echo Dot is a small cylinder that was redesigned in 2018 with a much punchier speaker than the previous generation. It can now be used for music in a small space. There's a 3.5mm audio jack and Bluetooth to make other devices smart. It's basically just the top section of the Amazon Echo and it can do all the same stuff.
Amazon Echo Dot with Clock

- Dimensions: 43 x 99 x 99mm, 300g
- Audio: Built-in speaker, 3.5mm connection
This is a no brainer as a bedside companion, adding a clock to the Echo Dot means you can glance at it for the time, so it's a little more informative than the regular Echo Dot. It can also give some visual feedback, like the temperature, but it sounds the same as the Echo Dot third-gen.
Amazon Echo (3nd generation)
squirrel_widget_167738
- Dimensions: 148 x 99 x 99mm, 780g
- Audio: 3.0-inch neodymium woofer and 0.8-inch tweeter, 3.5mm connection
The Amazon Echo is now in its third-gen and it's the best sounding version of the Echo that Amazon has produced. It uses the same design and speakers as the Echo Plus, just doesn't have a Zigbee controller. It comes highly recommended.
Amazon Echo Plus (2nd generation)

- Dimensions: 148 x 99 x 99mm, 780g
- Audio: 3.0-inch neodymium woofer and 0.8-inch tweeter, 3.5mm connection
The second-gen Echo Plus is the same as the cheaper third-gen Echo, but has a Zigbee controller. This allows the Echo Plus direct control of compatible smart home devices without the need for separate hubs or apps. Unless you need that controller, we'd recommend the Echo instead.
Amazon Echo Studio

- Dimensions: 175 x 206 x 175mm, 3.5kg
- Audio: 5.25-inch woofer, 3x 2-inch midrange speakers, 1-inch tweeter, 3.5mm connection
The Echo Studio is Amazon's play at the high-end of music. This speaker is Dolby Atmos compatible and supports Sony's Audio 360 format too, designed to give you a bigger and more immersive sound than previous Echo devices.
Amazon Echo Show 5
squirrel_widget_148875
- Dimensions: 148 x 86 x 73mm, 410g
- Camera: 1-megapixel sensor
- Audio: 5-microphone array, 1.65-inch speaker, 3.5mm output
So-called because of its compact 5.5-inch display, the Echo Show 5 is a super little device at a great price. Indeed, because it's effectively competing with the standard Amazon Echo on price we think many will plump for this device instead. Like the Echo Spot, it can also be used as a gradually-brightening alarm clock, while there's a privacy shutter over the camera, too.
Amazon Echo Show 8
squirrel_widget_167746
- Dimensions: 200.4 x 135.9 x 99.1mm, 1037g
- Camera: 1-megapixel sensor
- Audio: 4-microphone array, dual 2-inch speakers, 3.5mm connection
Amazon's latest Echo Show is an 8-inch version, slotting into the space between the largest and the smallest. It packs the same audio power as the larger device, while also offering a cover for the camera on the front.
Amazon Echo Show (2nd generation)
squirrel_widget_145809
- Dimensions: 246 x 174 x 107mm, 1.75kg
- Camera: 5-megapixel sensor
- Audio: 8-microphone array, dual 2-inch stereo speakers
The Echo Show is a touchscreen device with built-in Alexa and it can do everything the other Echos can but there's a built-in display to show you more information such as a full weather report, recipes and, even, the image from your Ring Video Doorbell.
Echo Wall Clock
squirrel_widget_158224
- Dimensions: 254 x 254 x 41mm, 380g
The Wall Clock is a bit of a strange Echo device because it doesn't have Alexa built in. Instead, it relies on you having another Alexa device around which it can pair with. The clock enables you to visually display timers on your wall so you can see when your broccoli will be finished at-a-glance. Setting up the clock is simple - there's an included wall fixer and batteries. Once you've popped in the batteries, sync the clock to your compatible Echo device by saying "Alexa, set up my Echo Wall Clock".
