PS5 pre-orders: We're watching where has PS5 pre-order stock
The initial batch of PlayStation 5 has been and gone, but we're hearing about more stock coming today, 25 September.
It's certainly the case that the initial PS5 pre-order was VERY haphazard with different retailers announcing stock at different times and general confusion about what is available when. Even now, retailers seem a little in the dark as to whether they will get more stock.

Sony tweeted on 19 September to "truly apologise" for the mess and said " PS5 preorders could have been a lot smoother. Over the next few days, we will release more PS5 consoles for preorder – retailers will share more details." That time seems to have come.
Of course, it's tempting to see the scramble for pre-orders as an intentional marketing ploy - less initial stock seems to mean more buzz and excitement.

Even though some recent reports suggested Sony had reduced its PS5 inventory to 11 million PlayStation 5 consoles either manufactured or on order - something Sony denied - it still means there should be roughly enough consoles to go round if history is anything to go by. 11 million is slightly higher than the number of units that were made in the initial PS4 run. The question is whether there is increased demand this time around.

PS5 price and release date
The standard PS5 with its disc drive costs $499 or £449, while the PS5 Digital Edition is $399 or £359.
The standard PlayStation 5 price is on a par with the Xbox Series X, so it seems Sony waited to find out what Microsoft was up to before releasing final prices. In some countries, however, the PS5 works out as a little more expensive.
The PS5 Digital Edition clocks in at $100/£110 more than the Xbox Series S, but has a better spec list as it is essentially identical to the standard PS5, just without a 4K Blu-ray drive.
Various bundles are available, including the DualSense controller, while there's also a charging dock, headphones, HD camera and a media remote as available accessories.
However, the PS5 release date is a little strange - 12 November in the US and selected other countries (Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea) before a 19 November 'rest of the world' rollout. This includes the UK.
