PS4 and PS5 game updates: How to watch the latest Sony State of Play

Sony Interactive Entertainment regularly hosts State of Play online events to show off the latest gameplay trailers for PS4 and PS5.

This latest one is due this week, Thursday 6 August, and will give some updates on both upcoming PS4 and PSVR games, and some news on PS5 games too, although Sony's been clear that nothing major is being announced.

Here is how and when you can watch it online.

When is the next PlayStation State of Play event?

The online-only video will start at 1pm PT on Thursday 6 August 2020. Here are the times for your region:

  • US West Coast: 1pm PT
  • US East Coast: 4pm ET
  • UK: 9pm BST
  • Central Europe: 10pm CEST

How to watch the PlayStation State of Play video stream

Once the video is schedule on YouTube, we'll embed it right here at the top of the page, so check back to watch it live with us.

Alternatively, you will also be able to watch it on PlayStation's channels on Twitch and YouTube.

What to expect during the latest State of Play

Like most State of Play presentations, we expect this to be a bit of a whirlwind dash through games that are coming up for Sony's consoles. It's been confirmed that this will comprise both PS4 and PS5 releases.

Sony's being careful to make sure that people don't expect too much, though, so it doesn't look like we'll be getting the two key bits of information still floating around about the PS5 - its price and exact release date.

Still, the presentation should be well worth watching if you're keen to find out more about the games Sony's got coming down the pike.
