Xbox Games Showcase: How to watch the Xbox Series X and Halo Infinite gameplay event

With no E3 this year, Xbox had to alter its plans for a major Showcase event on the eve of the show.

Like many other press conferences and keynotes, the current global situation put a spanner in the works. However, there will be an online version taking place this week.

Xbox will present gameplay of Halo Infinite running on Xbox Series X plus a whole stack of other big-name games on Thursday 23 July.

Here are the details on how to watch it, plus a few things we expect.

When is the Xbox Games Showcase?

The Games Showcase will be online-only and start at 9am PDT, Thursday 23 July 2020. Here are the times for your region:

  • US West Coast - 9am PDT
  • US East Coast - 12pm EDT
  • UK - 5pm BST
  • Central Europe - 6pm CEST

Where can you watch the Xbox Games Showcase?

We hope to host the livestream ourselves closer to its start time and date.

Alternatively, Xbox will undoubtedly also host the stream via its own Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter channels.

What to expect

Considering it is being dubbed a "Games Showcase" it is likely that the event will be a direct response to PlayStation's Future of Gaming, which was streamed in June.

That featured some big PS5 hitters that were markedly more significant than most of the Series X games shown in May's Inside Xbox.

We expect, therefore, Halo Infinite to play a big part in the Showcase. Plus, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. And you'll likely see a couple of other surprises, we'd imagine, maybe even including FIFA 21.

Sadly, we doubt there will be any hardware announcements though - such as the rumoured Xbox Series S - but maybe there will be pricing and availability details for the Xbox Series X itself. Fingers crossed.
