Google Stadia Pro free games for August 2020: Strange Brigade and more
Stadia Pro members not only get up to 4K HDR video streaming and 5.1 sound, they also get free games each month as part of their subscription.
Since launch, Pro members have received Destiny 2, Grid, Zombie Army 4, Serious Sam and many more games - all as part of the £8.99/$9.99 monthly fee.
And, with Stadia Pro now available for free for a month to new members, that means everyone can enjoy them right now.
Four new free games have now been announced, so here are August 2020's titles you can play on the Stadia cloud gaming platform at no extra cost.
Strange Brigade
- Available from 1 August 2020
Strange Brigade is a co-op multiplayer game from Rebellion - the developer behind the Sniper Elite and Zombie Army series. It features its trademark humour and some excellent matinee cinema-style moments.
Metro 2033 Redux
- Available from 1 August 2020
The game that kicked off the whole Metro FPS series, Metro 2033 is an excellent tale of survival in a Russian tube system after nuclear devastation has rendered the air above ground deadly.
Kona
- Available from 1 August 2020
Survival adventure game Kona takes you to stark locations in Northern Quebec, Canadian where you will uncover a murder mystery with supernatural undertones.
Just Shapes & Beats
- Available from 1 August 2020
Heavily based on dance rhythms, shoot-em-up Just Shapes & Beats can be played alone or with up to four-players. You basically have to avoid and battle across environments that shift and pulse with the music.
How to redeem your free Stadia Pro games
To redeem this month's games (and any games still available as part of Stadia Pro membership) follow the instructions below:
- Open the Stadia app on Android or iOS, or head to the Stadia webpage in Google Chrome.
- Open the store through the tab at the bottom (phone) or top (Chrome browser).
- If you are signed in you should see "Stadia Pro games" as the second scrollable menu.
- Either tap or click on each game you are yet to claim and that will take you to their individual page.
- Tap or click on "Claim".
- The game is now in your library to play as often as you like as long as you continue to subscribe to Stadia Pro.
Note, games are often taken off the Stadia Pro list, so can no longer be redeemed afterwards. However, they remain in your library to play.
