Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event: How to watch the gameplay livestream

CD Projekt Red is hosting its own online event for Cyberpunk 2077 later today.

With the E3 videogames convention cancelled this year because of you-know-what, the studio won't be able to present its behind-closed-doors gameplay briefings as per usual.

Therefore, it will host a presentation online, called Night City Wire (named after the fictional city in which Cyberpunk 2077 is set).

Here are details of how to watch it live, plus what you can expect.

When is the Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event?

Originally scheduled for 11 June, the event is taking place later today, Thursday 25 June, after being delayed in sympathy with the US protests. It will start at 6pm CEST.

Here are the times in your region:

  • US west coast: 9am PDT
  • US east coast: midday EDT
  • UK: 5pm BST
  • Central Europe: 6pm CEST
  • Japan: 1am JST (Friday 26 June)

How to watch the Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event

The Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event will be hosted on CD Projekt Red's Twitch channel. We also hope to host it here on Pocket-lint closer to the event kicking off.

You can also follow the Cyberpunk Twitter account for more information up to and throughout the event.

What to expect

Sadly, CD Projekt Red recently announced that Cyberpunk 2077's release has been delayed - to 19 November 2020. The game is ready, but bug testing is taking longer than initially expected.

That means there may be more eyes on the "first" Night City Wire event than before. Thankfully, everyone watching is in for a treat.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter feed revealed that we'll get a new trailer and gameplay footage, plus a chat with some of the development team in a 25-minute episode.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released for Xbox One, PS4 and PC 17 September 2020. A Google Stadia version will follow, along with releases for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Both the next-gen versions will also feature free upgrades, whereby if you buy either the Xbox One or PS4 copies, you get a respective update to the Series X or PS5 at no extra cost.
