Xbox One free Games with Gold for May 2020: V-Rally 4 and more
Every month, Xbox One gamers can download and play a selection of free games as part of an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
Xbox Live Gold is more than just free games though. It also gives Xbox One X, Xbox One S or even original Xbox One owners the chance to play their games online and discounts on many digital games on the Xbox Store.
Membership in the UK usually costs £17.99 for three-months or £49.99 for a whole year's membership when paid up front. Alternatively, you can choose to pay monthly for £6.99 a month.
In our opinion though, the best way to subscribe is through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. For just £10.99 per month, you get Xbox Live Gold membership, Xbox Game Pass with access to over 200 games to download and play, plus Xbox Game Pass for PC with more than 100 Windows 10 titles.

V-Rally 4

Another driving game leads the charge this month (after Project Cars 2 in April) and it presents a decent drive, with point-to-point rally races, hillclimbs and more. There's a career mode for longevity and a decent challenge for those with time on their hands (which is a lot of us at the minute, to be fair).
Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr

A top-down action RPG set in Games Workshop's world of Warhammer 40,000, Inquisitor - Martyr offers everything you expect from the genre: hardcore shooting, tonnes of loot and wave and wave of bad guys to smear over the shiny steel floors.

Quite simply one of the best football games ever released is now available for you to check out through backward compatibility for free. It's fun, fast and an ideal alternative to the more realistic tones of PES and FIFA.
Overlord
- Available 16 to 31 May 2020
Codemasters' Overlord puts you in the shoes of an evil master who controls a team of minions to get through numerous scenarios and puzzle levels. Think Pikmin in dark armour.
Sensible World of Soccer and Overlord are Xbox 360 games available through backward compatibility. They are also available to Xbox 360 owners with Xbox Live Gold.
Of last month's free games, the Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle will still be available for download until 15 May 2020.
