After the huge success of the Zombie Army Trilogy, Rebellion has created a sequel that improves on the formula in every way. Still heavily inspired by its Sniper Elite series, but with a few cunning Strange Brigade touches thrown in for good measure, Zombie Army 4: Dead War promises schlock action and zombie slaughter for up to four players in co-op.

This game also gives players the first look at the Darksiders world before the events of the original game took place.

squirrel_widget_160938
Gods & Monsters is an all-new IP for Ubisoft, lovingly crafted by the team behind the superb Assassin's Creed Odyssey. We don't know much about it at this point, but it certainly features some stunning aesthetics and a familiar vibe (can't help but make comparisons to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild).
Final Fantasy VII Remake

- PS4 exclusive: Yes
- Publisher: Square Enix
A complete, from-the-ground-up rebuild of one of our favourite Final Fantasy RPGs, Final Fantasy VII Remake promises to feel like a brand new game. Action combat has replaced turn-based and the graphics are on a par with FFXV at the very least.

Doom Eternal is the long-awaited sequel to 2016's Doom reboot. There's not long left to wait now and we've seen more in the form of teasers and extra trailers too.

squirrel_widget_148924
Biomutant is a brilliant looking open-world action RPG that will allow players to combine mutant powers and a wealth of weaponry to customise their characters into the ultimate hero or villain. The fate of the world is in your hands.
Skull & Bones
- Release date: March 2020
- PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
- Publisher: Ubisoft
squirrel_widget_148937
A classic example of why not to show games at a major show too long before they are ready, Skull & Bones didn't even make a reappearance at E3 2019 or Gamescom in the same year. That put its previous "2019" vague release date into the realms of unlikely. We might see it at the end of 2020 instead, it is thought.
Marvel's Avengers
- Release date: 15 May 2020
- PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One, PC and Stadia
- Publisher: Square Enix
- See the official site
Not constrained by the movies or comic books, the games outing for the Avengers will feature a completely original story and many different heroes for you to get your hands on. Developed by Crystal Dynamics (the team behind the Tomb Raider games) in collaboration with Eidos-Montréal, Nixxes Software and Crystal Northwest, it could be the start of a new, non-MCU but still very important franchise.
The Last of Us Part II
- Release date: 29 May 2020
- PS4 exclusive: Yes
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
The sequel to Naughty Dog's superlative horror game may not be for the faint-hearted, but it's still one of the most eagerly-anticipated games of all time. We still have no clue when to expect it, however. Rumours suggest it might not arrive until November 2020.

squirrel_widget_160914
Elden Ring is a new fantasy RPG that's bound to be incredibly punishing and intriguing too. It's the result of a collaboration between George R. R. Martin (author of Game of Thrones) and the team behind Dark Souls. Expect a wonderful fantasy game with a whole lot of death and mayhem.
Cyberpunk 2077
- Release date: 17 September 2020
- PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
- Publisher: CD Projekt Red
squirrel_widget_148928
Cyberpunk 2077 was by far and away the best game shown at E3 2018, it also wowed audiences at E3 2019 and Gamescom. Sure it's got Keanu Reeves, but there's so much more fun and thrills shown off within the trailer. The open world RPG is quite simply gorgeous, with no loading times and seamless transitions between huge areas as you travel the futuristic city. We can't wait to get our hands on this one.
Outriders
- Release date: September 2020
- PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
- Publisher: Square Enix
- See the official site
Outriders is a new co-op shooter created by the same team that worked on Gears of War Judgement and Bulletstorm. It's a drop-in-drop-out affair with a dark and desperate sci-fi vibe. We don't have much to go on at the moment, but it certainly looks intriguing and a whole lot of fun to play with friends.

You'll take control of five distinctive characters with varying skillsets including the ability to infiltrate, spy, sabotage, elude, steal, abduct, deviate, assassinate and blow stuff up. We still don't know an exact release date, but have been told it's still definitely 2019.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2
- Release date: 2020
- PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
- Publisher: Paradox Interactive
squirrel_widget_160962
It's only taken 15 years but a sequel to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is on its way. It is an in-depth, first-person RPG, like the original, but this time on consoles as well as PC. We can't wait.
Disintegration
- Release date: 2020
- PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC

- See the official site
Designed by the co-creator of Halo, Disintegration is a different kind of first-person shooter. It puts you into a grav-cycle, so you can hover above the battlefield, providing air support and guiding several ground troops in RTS fashion. Definitely one to watch for 2020.

squirrel_widget_160986
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Quarantine is a three-player tactical co-op FPS coming in 2020. It appears to be a spin-off from the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak mode that made an appearance in 2018 - maybe even a direct sequel. It's set in the near future where a mutated alien parasite is infecting human hosts and causing no end of problems. Players must team up to battle it out against the environment and survive unpredictable missions.

squirrel_widget_148926
Announced during E3 in June 2017, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is long overdue, especially considering the first was released over 15 years ago, and we still have no clue when it might be ready. The game's other-world setting - where multiple species communicate and interact - is quirky, cheeky and stunning. Think The Fifth Element in video game form and you're halfway there.
Ghost of Tsushima
- Release date: TBC
- PS4 exclusive: Yes
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
When it was announced during Paris Games Week in 2017, Ghost of Tsushima took many by surprise. We found out more during E3 2018 but nothing else since then. It is an all-new intellectual property being developed by the team behind the Infamous series, Sucker Punch, and looks stunning. We await more news eagerly.
Starfield
- Release date: TBC
- PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC
- Publisher: Bethesda
We know nothing about Starfield apart from the fact that it will be the first all-new IP from Bethesda Softworks for 25 years. Some are suggesting that it will be a sci-fi epic RPG: Skyrim in Space, basically.
The Elder Scrolls VI

Never has a logo created so much excitement. The sequel to Skyrim might not even be for this generation of consoles, but we're still tingling with anticipation nonetheless.

Dying Light 2
- Release date: 2020
- PS4 exclusive: No, also on Xbox One and PC

squirrel_widget_148929
One of our favourite zombie games of the last decade returns with more first-person parkour fun and even scarier nighttime runs. One of the other new features is a dynamic game world that shifts and changes based on your choices during key missions. Your game, therefore, can end up being very different from another player's.
