Xbox One free Games with Gold for December 2019: Jurassic World Evolution and more
Every month, Xbox One gamers can download and play a selection of free games as part of an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
Xbox Live Gold is more than just free games though. It also gives Xbox One X, Xbox One S or even original Xbox One owners the chance to play their games online and discounts on many digital games on the Xbox Store.
Membership in the UK usually costs £17.99 for three-months or £49.99 for a whole year's membership when paid up front. Alternatively, you can choose to pay monthly for £6.99 a month.
In our opinion though, the best way to subscribe is through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. For just £10.99 per month, you get Xbox Live Gold membership, Xbox Game Pass with access to over 200 games to download and play, plus Xbox Game Pass for PC with more than 100 Windows 10 titles.

Insane Robots
- Available 1 to 31 December 2019
This multiplayer card battler allows you to collect a myriad of robots to battle in arenas. There is also an extensive campaign mode that is claimed to take more than 15 hours to complete.
Jurassic World Evolution
- Available 16 December 2019 to 15 January 2020
From the studio that brought you Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, Planet Coaster and Zoo Tycoon, Jurassic World Evolution is a similar park-building simulation game, this time themed around the Jurassic World movies. You get to build your own dinosaur-filled theme park and deal with the results when they all escape and eat the guests.
Toy Story 3: The Video Game
- Available 1 to 15 December 2019
The game of the film, innit? The 3D platformer / action-adventure game is great fun for all the family and has a nice, friendly story mode based on the movie. However, it's the Toy Box mode that really shines as it lets you create your own quests and stories in sandbox/open-world style.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate HD
- Available 16 to 31 December 2019
The direct follow-up to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, this is an action battler in the God of War and Devil May Cry vein.
Toy Story 3 and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate HD are Xbox 360 games that have been resurrected through backward compatibility.
One of last month's free games, The Final Station, will still be available for download until 15 December 2019.
The latter two games are also available for Xbox 360 owners who have Xbox Live Gold membership.
